CWR: Living History at Riley's Farm |

Riley’s Farm is a working apple orchard and living history farm featuring pick-your-own-fruit, living history education, dinner theater, group banquet facilities and extended, historically-themed overnight stays. ACWS will be setting up civil war encampments and providing civil war living history to the public on Saturday, September 12, 2008 from 10 AM to 4 PM. On Sunday, Riley’s Farm is closed to the public, but the ACWS will be having an ACWS Board Meeting at 10 am. ACWS members are always welcomed to the Board Meetings. |

Washington, D.C. Two days after the surrender of Confederate General Robert E. Lee's army, a jubilant crowd gathered outside the White House, calling for President Lincoln. Reporter Noah Brooks wrote, "Outside was a vast sea of faces, illuminated by the lights that burned in the festal array of the White House, and stretching far out into the misty darkness.
